Basic Gameplay Advice
Basic rules
Your goal is to illuminate all the floor tiles in the level within the limited number of moves provided. All the floor tiles that aren’t illuminated appear gray. Walking on them illuminates them and colors them blue. The number of moves available to you are shown on the top left corner of the screen.
You move by sliding from one corner to the next and stop at the end of the path. You win when you finish illuminating all the tiles in the level. You will fail the level if you run out of moves, fall into a hole, or hit a spike.
Levels & Features
The game has 20 levels, which are unlocked in sequence. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten.
Levels have a number of features that will influence how you move around. Holes, for instance, serve as walls if you move toward them from a distance. However, you will fall into them if you move from them from a neighboring tile. Spikes are another in-game hazard. They first appear as a tile with 4 small holes. They can be walked over once; the spikes emerge afterward, rendering them impassable. Like holes, they act as stoppers from a distance and are fatal if approached from an adjacent tile.
Knights also serve as stoppers; once you occupy the tile they’re on, they’re defeated and disappear, and you can move once more. Colored warps allow you to go from one part of the level to the next. Entering a colored warp will lead you to re-emerge in the other warp with its color. You can re-enter warps as many times as you need in any direction.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
When finishing a level, focus your attention on the tiles at the center and the tiles that can only be accessed from a single point. It’s easy to miss nodes if you’re not careful. Look out for knights and spikes. Stopping where a knight had previously been can give you access to otherwise inaccessible cells.
Sometimes, triggering a hazard may be necessary. Spikes may serve as stoppers to help you reach the hard-to-access tiles at the center of the level. Be careful to approach them from a distance so as not to hit them.
Don’t worry if you need to go over a path. A level may sometimes require a bit of backtracking to complete.
The game has no time limit. Take all the time you need to finish each level.
