Fruit Watermelon Merge Game Review
Fruit Watermelon Merge Game Background
Fruit Watermelon is a fruit merging game inspired by the original Suika Game. Your goal is to create the watermelon by dropping and merging identical fruits to form larger ones.
This game was developed on Construct3.
How to Play Fruit Watermelon Merge
To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. To start the game, select the play button at the center of the screen.
Select anywhere on the screen to drop a fruit in that direction. A dashed line shows you the direction the fruit will fall. Drop fruits atop or beside identical fruits to merge them.
Keep merging fruits until you form the watermelon. After that, you can continue merging until the stack reaches the top of the shaft. As you stack fruits up, a dashed line appears near the top of the shaft. If the stack goes past that line, it’s game over.
You earn points by dropping the fruits. The value of the fruit you drop is based on its size. The smallest fruit, the blueberry, is worth 2 points. Some fruits are worth 4 points. You also get points for forming the fruits that aren’t generated randomly by the game. The point value of these fruits is determined by their size.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The game gives you some leeway to plan ahead. You see both the current and next fruits onscreen, with the next fruit appearing at the top center of the game screen. You can also check the fruit chart to see what the fruits merge into, you can access this by selecting the
The fruits move around after you drop them. Wait for the fruits to stop moving before dropping the next one to avoid the fruits moving out of place. Sometimes, the fruits will also merge. Alternately, you can take advantage of the post-drop motion by using the fruit you drop to nudge another in the desired direction.
Try to keep the smaller fruits away from the bigger ones. Not only will smaller fruits stand in the way of the merger of larger ones, they will also create voids that will make the stack much bigger than it needs to be.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
Keep the fruits as organized as possible. One way that we recommend is using a stair step arrangement with smaller fruits in one end and larger ones in the other. This will help you merge the fruits in an effective manner. Try to keep the pattern for as long as you can.
The game randomly generates only the first few fruits in the sequence. This means that, too often, you’ll get smaller fruits that don’t conveniently merge into anything. We recommend tossing them to one of the sides to keep them from getting in the way of the larger eggs.
Ignore the game clock. Remember, the game does not have a time limit and does not give any bonus from working quickly. Careful placement can take a lot of thinking.
Educational Aspects
This game encourages players to think strategically and methodically. Players yield the best results when they take the time to plan out each move before they drop the fruits. It also teaches players patience, as while the game is easy to get into, it takes considerable time to master.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for players school-aged and above. We recommend it for players who like fruit-merging games similar to the original Suika Game.
