How to Play Football Kickoff

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. To begin, select the play button at the bottom center of the welcome screen.

Kick the ball into the goal by selecting on the screen and swiping. Swipe with the right amount of force and in the correct angle to maximize the likelihood of the ball going through the goal.

The points you earn depend on which area of the goal you move past. Hitting the red areas of the goal will net you 10 points, the yellow areas 15 points, and the green areas 25 points. Keep track of your score on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Basic Gameplay Advice

You have 90 seconds to score as many goals as you can. You can view the timer on the bottom left corner of the screen.

To count as a goal, a ball must pass through the goalposts without hitting the poles. Hitting any other region or missing the space between the poles entirely counts as a miss. In most cases, missing will cost you any of your five lives. Each life appears as a heart on the top center of the screen. Lose all your lives and the game ends.

You will not lose a life if you hit either of the poles, but you will not receive any points from it.

After kicking the ball four times, the game shifts the angle that you’re shooting from. The process repeats until you run out of time or lose all your lives.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

The game has wind resistance, which you must occasionally factor in when kicking the ball into the goal. Not every goal needs to account for wind, but for those that do, it pays to work with it. If the wind is blowing away from the goal, see if you can kick a little harder in the opposite direction. Likewise, if the wind is blowing toward the goal, you might need to go for a weaker kick and let the wind take it there.
