Escape Kid is a logic puzzle platformer game.

How to Play Escape Kid

Press the A key, the Enter key, or touch the welcome screen to start the game. If it is your first play you will go straight into play. If you have played before you will go to the level select screen and have to tap on a level number to play it.

Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.

Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.

Jump by pressing the W key, or the up arrow key. Press twice to double jump.

When standing near an energy orb press Z to fire the orb in the direction you are facing. Similarly, there are mirrored redirection boxes which you can rotate clockwise 90 degrees by pressing the Z key when you are near them. Starting on stage 10 there are flip switches which you can activate to make platforms appear.

When you advance through the game to level 6 and beyond you can create a copy of yourself that you use as a temporary platform. Press the X key to create a clone of yourself in that location.

Press the R key to restart the current level.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Avoid falling off platform, walking on spikes, or running into enemies, as any of those will result in death. You can use the energy orb to have it destroy enemies.

Starting on level 7 there are flying enemies which can attack you. Try to get them to run into the energy orb to defeat them, or evade them.

This game features 15 stages which are unlocked sequentially.

To beat a stage you must direct an energy beam toward a box by shooting from the correct side, activating the correct switches, and having the mirrors properly aligned. When the box receives the energy it unlocks a gate near the exit so you can pass through it, but it also causes the spiked left wall to chase you right, and the cloned version of your character disappears.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Try to take out the flying enemies before shooting energy at the box. You can either hit them with the energy beam, have them run into the energy ball, or have them chase you into a part of the stage you do not need to pass again and then switch away from the clone.

On some stages the energy ball passes over switches and realigns them. In these cases you need to have the switches in the wrong position so they get knocked back into the correct positions.
