How to Play Dwarf Workday

Press the gray and white PLAY button on the game loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. Press the spacebar on the welcome screen to start the game.

Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.

Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.

Jump by pressing the X key.

Hook into the walls or ceiling by pressing the C key.

Press the up arrow key near the switch under the hammers to refine the rock-covered diamonds into raw diamonds.

Press the up arrow key and the C key at the same time to use the upper hook. Note that you only obtain this in the middle of the second stage onward after refining some diamonds. If the upper grappling hook does not reach far enough you might need to jump and then use it.

Basic Gameplay Advice

The goal of this game is to extract all the diamonds from a mine,

Smash into the walls or ceiling using the C key to knock the diamonds loose, then pick up the rock-covered diamonds and bring them over to the refiner to knock the rocks off of them. Grab the raw diamonds, and as a reward you might be issued a longer grappling hook or the ability to grapple upward.

• Collecting both refined blue diamonds gives you a longer grappling hook.
• Collecting both refined green diamonds gives you the ability to grapple upward.
• The final stage also has pink diamonds you collect last, though those do not unlock any other powers.

You start each stage with 3 heart containers. Your grappling hook can be used to pull you across to a diamond, pull blocks out of your way, or hit enemies.

Bring all of the diamonds back to the mine shaft and return to the surface to beat each stage. The diamonds you need to collect are shown at the bottom left of the screen and the light on the mine cart illuminates when you have collected all of them.

This game features a total of 5 quick levels.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

While you do not technically have to defeat all of the enemies it is usually best to do so, such that you do not have to worry about running into them. Bats can be frustrating to defeat. Jump away from them and when you are on the same vertical plane face them and hit them with the grappling hook.

Some jumps require you to make it through a small passage with the grappling hook, to pull up with the grappling hook and fall to the side, or to use the grappling hook to pass a long distance horizontally.

If you are struggling to grab the diamonds in a part of a level try to go the other way and get those diamonds first, then come back.

Educational Aspects

This game can help children improve hand eye coordination and gain greater keyboard awareness as some moves require tapping multiple keys at the same time or three keys in rapid succession.

This game is fun for players of all ages. The game is quite easy, though is over quite fast as there are only 5 brief levels.
