How to Play Cricket Hero

Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the screen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select anywhere to begin. Select anywhere on the screen to swing. In stages where the ball can be thrown on one side or the other, select on the side where the ball is thrown to hit it.

Basic Gameplay Advice

You begin with your player character at the center of the screen. A pair of circles appear in front of the player. These indicate the direction the ball will be thrown. Strike at the right time to hit the ball. To count as the right time, the ball must pass through the smaller circle. Any sooner or later and you will miss the ball.

After seven pitches, your player gains an extra circle, which indicates which side the pitch will come from. The active side will have a solid, glowing circle whereas the other side will have a dashed circle that’s considerably dimmer. Pitches come in fastballs, curveballs, bouncing pitches, and winding vortexes.

Avoid hitting bombs and eggs. Eggs will coat your view for a few seconds, making it hard to see when you should strike. Hitting a bomb ends the game prematurely.

You begin the game with 3 lives, which appear as balls on the screen behind your player character. Each time you miss, you lose a life. Lose all your lives and the game ends. If you hit a bomb, the game automatically ends regardless of how many lives you currently have. On occasion, a player appears somewhere on the screen. Selecting this player grants you another life. You do not lose lives if you hit a life.

Each successful strike is worth 1 point. After ten consecutive strikes, your bat gets hot; subsequently, every new strike you make will be worth twice the points. Hitting a star, meanwhile, is worth 4 points. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. You can compare both your latest and best scores on the welcome screen. Collect coins by hitting them the same way you would with the balls. While they don’t add to your score, you can use the coins you collect to buy an extra life.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Although hitting the player behind you grants an extra life, we dissuade you from selecting them unless the game is pitching a bomb or egg. The risk of missing the pitch is usually not worth the extra life. Instead, try to collect 10 coins and pay for an extra life that way.
