Climb The Rock is a tap-timing-based endless climbing game. As a rock climber, move up the cliff face as high up as you can. Click or tap at the right time to grip on rocks to make your way up. Collect as many rubies along the way up as you can.

How to Play Climb the Rock

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select the play button near the center of the welcome screen to begin. Select anywhere on the game screen to start playing.

The rock climber automatically swings from side to side. Select at the right time to grab hold of the rocks nearby to move up.

Basic Gameplay Advice

You play as a rock climber moving up a sheer cliff face. Grab hold of rocks as you swing from left to right to move upward. If you miss, you plummet down; game over. Avoid grabbing onto crumbling rocks for a similar reason.

Along the way up, collect rubies embedded in rocks by grabbing the rock they’re embedded in. You can use the rubies you’ve collected to unlock new climbers. You can choose from 5 different climbers by selecting their portrait on the climber menu. Open the climber menu by selecting the portrait button on the bottom center of the welcome screen.

You earn points by climbing up. Each rock you successfully grab is worth 1 point. Your web browser automatically saves your best score.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

You move in a circular pattern, with the rock acting as the axle to your path of movement. You can only grab onto rocks that fall under the edge of your path. Note that not every rock in your vicinity will be within this range. We recommend letting the climber do a full circle to determine which rocks you can grab.

This also means that you may sometimes need to return in the same way you came to keep climbing. This can happen when the rock you chose doesn’t have any neighbors you can properly latch onto or are convenient detours as in the case of ruby-bearing rocks. In occasional instances, there may not be any rocks for you to hold onto; this is effectively a game over.
