Candy Blast is a simple sweets-themed Match-3 game. Connect groups of 3 or more identical candies to clear them. Meet the target number of specific merged candies to beat each level.

How to Play Candy Blast

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button at the center to open the level selection screen. Choose any of the unlocked levels to begin.

Select a piece of candy, then select its neighbor to move it. You can only move the candies horizontally or vertically. If the candies moved form a valid row of 3 identical candies, they will stay in place and the row will be cleared from the screen. Otherwise, they will return to their original positions.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Your goal is to clear the target number of specific candies shown on the left center of the screen. Form rows of 3 or more identical candies on the grid to clear them. Each target candy you clear gets subtracted from your quota. Once your quota is filled, you’ve beaten the level.

Each time you clear a group of candies, the candies above it will fall to fill the space and new ones generated at the top. Any valid row that forms after you clear your first row will also be cleared and count as part of your move. The game will automatically reshuffle the candies on the grid if you ever run out of valid places to move.

You only have a limited number of moves to finish the level. If you finish within the number of moves, the moves you have left will turn into active power ups that will clear more tiles. You will fail the level if you run out of moves.

Levels

The game has 30 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. Each level has its own star rating and high score record. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten to improve your high scores and star ratings.

The first levels of the game have simple square grids, which are easy to play in. Later levels have more complex grids that have unusual falling mechanics; the candies may fall in unusual ways, which may make forming new rows more difficult.

Scoring & Star Ratings

You earn 50 points for every piece of candy you clear. You can earn 150 to 250 points for every row you clear. The points you earn appear near the top left of the screen.

On the bottom left is the star meter. It slowly fills up each time you earn points. As it fills up, it hits the stars. Each star the meter hits represents your star rating. The more points you earn at the end of the level, the higher your star rating will be.

Power Ups

The game has 5 types of power ups, which you can use to clear more candies throughout each level. These can appear at random or be produced whenever you clear more than 3 pieces of candy in a single row.

• Striped candies clear a row of candies. These can be horizontal or vertical, depending on the orientation of their stripes. Striped candies with a plus shape will remove both a horizontal and vertical row of candies. They form by clearing 4 candies in a row.
• Chocolate balls work by switching it with any piece of candy, regardless of whether it forms a row. This will clear all of that type of candy from the grid instantly. Chocolate balls form from horizontal or vertical rows of 5 candies.
• Bombs form from intersecting rows of 5 candies that form an L shape. Select them to blow them up.

Besides clearing candies in a row, striped candies can also switch places to act as bombs.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Activate as many power ups as you can to maximize the number of candies you clear throughout the level. Generate them by clearing multiples and use them whenever the opportunity presents itself. Chocolate balls are especially useful in this regard. When using them, pick the adjacent candy that appears the most number of times in the entire grid.

The amount of points you earn at the end of the level typically depends not only on the number of candies you clear but on the number of moves you have left once you finish. The power ups generated by the remaining moves often clear more candies than you can by yourself. The key to a higher star rating is to finish the level in as few moves as possible.
