CalcuDoku Game Review
Calcudoku Game Background
Calcudoku is a variation on the Sudoku grid formula that trades in number logic for arithmetic. Like in classic Sudoku, you mustn’t repeat any number on any row, column, or bolded box. Likewise, each number must correspond to the result of the arithmetic equation shown on the spaces.

How to Play Calcudoku
Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select Start at the center to begin or select How to Play at the bottom center to learn more.
To fill in square, select it and choose a number from the Fill in the Grid box. Select your number of choice. If you want to change the number, select the square again, then select the X at the bottom of the screen. Repeat the original process to replace it with a new number.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The rules of the game are inspired by standard Sudoku. You begin with a grid where you must place in the given numbers at least once in every row, column, and highlighted square. You must finish the puzzle before the timer on the top left corner expires.
The boxes will turn red if you repeat a digit in any row column, or highlighted area. Be sure to correct this while solving the puzzle.
If you’re ever stumped, select the lightbulb button at the bottom of the screen for a clue. This will give you the correct answer for a square. Be careful when using clues, however, as each clue used takes seconds off your timer.
Unlike Sudoku, however, each number placed must correspond to the solution to the equation shown in each empty square. Each equation involves any of the four arithmetical operators (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). This adds a level of difficulty to the game as it’s not enough that a number merely doesn’t repeat. The game will not be considered finished until every number shown on the grid is correct.
Once the puzzle is completed, the game displays the phrase “CalcuDoku completed.” You have the option to share the game and your score with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.
The game’s four difficulty levels are measured by the size of the puzzle and the numbers involved. The lowest difficulty level, easy, uses a 3 x 3 puzzle grid and involves only the numbers 1 to 3 whereas the highest, expert, uses a 6 x 6 grid.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
For beginners, there’s no shame in using the clue button early on. We recommend using it as soon as you can while the game’s timer is still full to reduce the impact of its deductions on your total timer.
Even if you don’t repeat any numbers, you might still get the puzzle wrong. When this happens, identify where you went wrong and figure out your alternate answers while you still have time left.
Remember, practice makes perfect. It may take awhile for you to learn the ropes of the game so stick with the easier levels first until you figure it out. Especially in the higher levels, you can’t expect to win every game right away. As you get better move up a skill level to continue to challenge yourself.
Educational Aspects
This game challenges a player’s logical thinking and arithmetic skills. Players young and old alike are encouraged to perform math equations in their heads quickly to solve each puzzle.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is suited for older school-aged players and above. We recommend this game both for both math learners and Sudoku fans seeking a challenge.
