Brawl Hero Advanced Game Review

Brawl Hero Advanced Game Background

Brawl Hero Advanced is a fun fighting strategy game where you defeat monsters in each map then pass onto the next level, seeing how far you can make it. Use treasures collected to upgrade your fighter and see how many stages you can play through.

This game was published by MarketJS. The game was originally created with an in-game ad system for upgrades. We disabled the ads, allowing quick upgrades without having to watch any in-game ads.

How to Play Brawl Hero Advanced

Press the Play button in the center of the welcome screen to start the game. If it is your first time playing the game you will select the default character, though there are 10 additional characters you can unlock. Press the Play button on the character select screen to start the game.

Move around the playing field using the WASD keys, the arrow keys, or by holding in your mouse left click and sliding your mouse around the stages. Whenever you stand still you automatically shoot at nearby enemies.

Your character has a health bar above it and all enemies have health bars. Evade and hit, repeating the process until the stage is clear.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Level Play

Move around while avoiding enemy fire, then stand still to shoot at enemies. Defeat all of the enemies to unlock the exit portal. You will know the portal gate is open because when all enemies are defeated the coins and gems automatically slide toward you. At the end of each area enter the gate to advance to the next area.

Enemy Types

Some enemies evade then attack, while others are more aggressive in their attacks. The following list highlights enemies you can expect to encounter along with tips to beat them.

  • Jellies: jump at you
  • Dogs: throw spiked balls which can go over walls
  • Drones: roll and shoot lasers that can not pass through walls. The laser previews blink before active firing.
  • Mushrooms: toss bombs, which land on the red highlighted spots and explode
  • Cactus: shoots spikes at you

As you advance through the game the maps for each stage can repeat periodically. You face some mix of the same types of enemies, though they keep getting stronger as you advance.

Boss Battles

There are a variety of boss types in this game, with you fighting the first boss on level 6. The bosses are giant versions of the regular enemies.

  • Giant slime: breaks down into repeated series of smaller slimes
  • Giant cactus: shoots rapidly a wave of spikes, and periodically shoots off some smaller cactus at you
  • Giant drone: shoots a big laser, 3 smaller laser blasts, and periodically sheds smaller drone enemies

You go through the bosses one at a time periodically between other levels, and follow them in the same sequence.

End of Wave Options

If you see a starter pack click on it to claim it to gather commodities which can be traded for other items.

Merchants

At the end of some stages a merchant appears. Click into the merchant window and purchase goods to upgrade your character. The most important thing to purchase is the liquid of life, which allows you to revive with 100% health. You can stack multiple liquid of life to have multiple continues. If your health is low buying the elixir of energy to restore health immediately is also good. Other offers are to exchange commodities for other commodities, and things like slowing down enemies, making enemy attacks weaker, and getting 10% more gold from each map.

Power Ups

When you reach a new level you can select between 3 different power up types like:

  • Attack Up: stronger attack
  • Attack Speed: attack faster
  • Critical: do more damage
  • Double Shot: shoot twice in a row
  • HP Up: more hit points
  • Kill Shot: greater chance of one hit defeating somebody
  • Life Steal: add HP to your character each time you defeat an enemy
  • Multi Shot: shoot triple in front
  • Piercing: shots can go through one enemy and hit the next
  • Rear Multi: shoot triple behind
  • Rear Shot: shoot behind
  • Ricochet: shots bounce off one enemy and hit the next
  • Shield Guard: up to 3 tiny shields spin around you while you walk around
  • Wall Bounce: your shots can bounce off the walls

If your health is low it makes sense to collect HP Up. Multi Shot, Double Shot, Piercing, Ricochet, and Wall Bounce help you flood the zone with attacks. You can have up to 3 Shield Guards floating around you at any time. Life Steal is important to grab because it is the only thing which restores your health during regular battle.

Rewards & Upgrades

Daily rewards provide a once-daily bonus. Select achievements for more coins. There are 100 different achievements you can unlock, with coins earned for each completed achievement after you redeem it.

You can go to the town to harvest forest wood, quarry rocks, or mine gems so that you can trade with the merchant.

At the end of each game you can spend your coins purchasing upgrades.

Press on the upgrades button to upgrade your skills starting at 5 coins each. You can upgrade:

  • Move Speed
  • Attack Speed
  • Attack Damage
  • Ball Speed
  • Health Increase
  • Kill Shot Chance
  • Life Steal
  • Ricochet Durability
  • Piercing Durability
  • Bounce Ball Durability

The purchased upgrades are retained between games, allowing you to keep making your character stronger and stronger. Each upgrade costs 5 coins more than the prior upgrade, with the topmost upgrade of each feature costing 500 coins. Fully upgrading each attribute costs 25,250. Fully upgrading all 10 attributes costs 252,500.

Loot Boxes

The loot box helps you collect cards which can be used to unlock other characters and upgrade your current character.

You can select a basic loot box each minute to pull out one card at a time. The premium loot box contains 10 cards and you can collect it once every couple minutes.

After gaining enough of the same character type you can upgrade their rank. Heroes need to be upgraded to at least level 3 to unlock them.

Mini Games

The game features 4 mini games which you can beat once each per day: Guess The Number, Match the Cards, Simon Says, and Maze Challenge. You can earn 10 coins by completing each of the games.

In guess the number you enter a 3-digit number and then the game tells you to guess higher, guess lower, or correct. Keep half splitting until you arrive at the correct number.

In Match the Cards you must pair off 8 cards into 4 identical sets of 2. You can make up to 3 incorrect guesses, but if you make any more you lose the game.

In Simon Says you get 3 flash cards shown quickly which you must then match in the correct order out of a set of 8. If you get the 3 correct you then match a set of 4, then a set of 5.

The Maze Challenge has you use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move one tile at a time until you make it to the exit of a small maze.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

The main thing with this game is to stay in motion if enemies have the ability to hit you, and only pause periodically to fire then keep on moving. The game is easier if you isolate enemies and pick them off one at a time rather than facing many of them at once.

Be sure you do not walk on spikes. If the jellies get close to you be sure to move just before they jump to throw their jumps off so they do not hit you. Typically you want to move away from enemy fire in a way that is orthogonal to their general movement or attack direction. If they are attacking downward from the top it is best to evade by moving left or right.

On boss battles it can make sense to stand far away from the boss and shoot into the abyss knowing that your shots will ricochet around and eventually hit them.

Educational Aspects

This game can help improve reaction times and strategic thinking.
