How to Play Block Color Puzzle Blast

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. To start the game, select Play at the center of the welcome screen. If you’re playing for the first time, the game begins with a brief tutorial that you should follow along.

Select the puzzle pieces at the bottom center of the screen, then drag and drop them onto the grid.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

Your goal is to form a horizontal or vertical row of units on the grid by placing down the pieces shown on the bottom center. There are always 3 pieces on the bottom; each time you put one down, another takes its place. . Pieces can have up to 9 units and are arranged in shapes that are never more than 4 tiles long or wide. Fit the pieces together to form the rows of 10.

The game continues until you run out of space to put any of the pieces onto the grid.

Scoring and Combos

You earn points each time you lay down a piece on the grid. Each piece you place is worth 20 points, regardless of how many units it’s made of. You also earn 200 points for forming and clearing a row of 10 (for a total of 220 points for that move, counting the 20 from the piece you laid down).

You also earn a combo bonus based on how close each row you clear was from each other. Each combo applies a multiplier bonus to the value of points you earn in a move. The first bonus multiplies your score by 2, the next one by 3, and so on. The combo bonus is applied per row. If you’re clearing three rows, for instance, one gets 220, the other 440, and the third 720.

To earn a combo, you must clear at least one row within 2 moves of your previous row. You instantly gain a 2x combo after clearing more than one row. Keep track of your combo’s progress on the center of the third row of the game screen.

Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and best score. You can view your latest and best scores on the game over screen. Your best score also appears above your current score in the game screen.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

The key to long-term survival and a high score is to keep the grid clear. This will allow you to make room for larger, more awkwardly shaped pieces to be placed once they appear. Form rows as soon as you can to clear away pieces as soon as possible.

When larger pieces are generated, place them as soon as you can in areas where they will be unobtrusive. Consider forming the bulk of a new row on them while using the smaller pieces as filler to complete the rows.

There is no limit to how high the combo bonus stacks. Consider forming and clearing rows in rapid succession or simultaneously to maximize the number of points you earn.

It also challenges players to think on their feet while still thinking ahead. Pieces are generated at random, and players must focus their thoughts on fitting in the pieces they currently have while making room for what they can’t anticipate.
