Axel Dungeon Sokoban Game Review
Axel Dungeon Sokoban Game Background
This is a classic Sokoban game where players must push the crates onto the red spots on the floor. The game has a slightly angled view rather than the traditional top down view.
This game was developed by Andyro Game Studios.
How to Play Axel Dungeon Sokoban
Press the Play Game button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen. Tap on an unlocked level to play it.
Move the character around the stage by using either the WASD keys or the arrow keys.
The player moves one square at a time and can only push one crate at a time.
Basic Gameplay Advice
If two crates are next to each other you will have to push one of them orthogonally to the other to be able to move the second crate along the path.
The game has 30 stages which are unlocked sequentially. Players have to move all of the crates onto the red marked spots on the floor. The red spots turn green when a crate is placed atop them. When all crates are on green spots the level is complete and you advance to the next.
The game counts how many moves you make on each stage, though there is no move count limit.
If you make a mistake press the R key on your keyboard or the restart button in the upper right corner to reload the current level.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
In many cases you have to move crates away from the goal to have a path to move them to where you want them moved.
When crates are on the colored spots you can still move them if needed. Be sure to fill in the hardest to reach areas first and ensure your final few crates have direct access to the remaining red squares.
Be careful when moving crates to a spot next to a wall, as you will need a gap in the wall to move it off of the wall. Crates that are in a corner cell with adjacent walls on 2 consecutive sides can not be pushed.
Educational Aspects
Sokoban games are good at helping players establish order-of-operation and route management skills.
Player Age Recommendations
The first few stages are quite easy to where almost anyone can beat them. The game is fast enough with an aesthetically pleasing layout that older Sokoban players will also enjoy.
