Arrower Game Background

Arrower is a simple arrow-movement spatial puzzle game. Your goal is to slide the yellow blocks to the yellow spaces on the grid. The catch is that they can only move in the direction shown by their arrows, which change only if they pass by an arrow on any of the spaces they travel on Position various movable blocks as stoppers to help slide the yellow arrow blocks to their destination.

The game was developed by Demonte Maximiliano of QKY Games Studio. 

How to Play Arrower

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. Select anywhere on the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen. On the welcome screen, select the arrow at the center to load the level selection screen. From there, select an unlocked level’s number to start playing.

Select an arrow to move them. Select special pieces, then select a destination square you want to move them to.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

This is a path-making spatial puzzle where you must direct the colored arrow blocks to their target spaces through the judicious use of various blocks within the grid. Once selected, the arrow blocks will move in a continuous line until it hits another object. Use movable colored blocks and arrows on each of the spaces to redirect the colored blocks to where it needs to go.

If you’re ever stuck, select the reset button on the top right corner of the game screen to start the level again from the beginning.

The game has 32 levels divided into two chapters of 16 levels each. The levels are unlocked sequentially; you can replay previously unlocked levels at any time.

Level Features & Mechanics

The arrow blocks that are yellow will move in the direction indicated by their arrow until they reach an edge. If they pass by a space with an arrow, they will reorient their movement for subsequent moves but continue going on their current path until they reach their destination space or hit something. The objects they can hit include the edge of the grid and any block placed on a square. Place all the yellow arrow blocks in the yellow spaces to finish the game.

Various blocks can be used to act as stoppers for the arrow blocks. These come in several colors and have arrows on the indicating their movement pattern. Unlike the arrow blocks, stopper blocks don’t slide:

• Red stopper blocks can move in any direction one space at a time.
• Blue stopper blocks can move in the indicated linear direction (horizontally or vertically). They will change orientation if they pass by a space with an arrow. Unlike red blocks, you can move them in multiple spaces in their stated direction.
• Magenta stopper blocks can repeatedly move in any direction indicated by its arrow.
• Teal stopper blocks can move multiple spaces diagonally across the level in the direction indicated.
• Green stopper blocks can move only once. While it can move multiple spaces horizontally and vertically, once it’s in place, it cannot move again.

The game helpfully indicates which direction the stopper blocks can move based whenever you select them.

Arrows and circles on a space change the direction each block (both arrow blocks and blue stopper blocks) will shift if they pass by it. Arrows shift the direction of the block in the direction it’s pointing whereas a circle will rotate the orientation of the block by 90 degrees.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

If you’re having trouble determining the path of each of the arrow blocks, try working backwards from the end point and working things out from there.

The blocks in the level can serve as effective temporary barriers. This includes the other arrow blocks. When using these blocks, see if you can determine the proper order needed to bring them all to their destination spaces.

When in doubt, prioritize reversible actions over permanent ones. Prioritize moving the blocks you can move back into their original position before moving anything else. Likewise, try to keep blocks you can move multiple times away from the arrow spaces and circles to keep them facing the same side. Consider choosing more permanent options once you’re done with the reversible ones.

Finally, don’t be afraid to resort to trial and error. See how far you can go with your current strategy and refine it little by little until you win.
