How to Play Arkanoid Blocks

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select the play button near the title of the game to load the level selection screen. From there, select an unlocked level’s number to begin.

Select anywhere on the screen to launch the ball. Select and swipe horizontally to move the paddle.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Basic Rules

At its core, the game plays fairly similarly to other brick breakers. Launch the ball, then use the paddle to redirect the ball up as it returns. Destroy all the bricks by hitting them with the ball to beat the level. Keep the ball in play for as long as possible and pick up power ups to help you clear the bricks quicker.

However, it differs in a few other ways. First off, the game allows you see the direction of the ball upon launch. This is represented by an arrow that moves in an arc before you launch the ball. Select at the right time to lock in the desired direction of your launch. You also start with only one ball; if the ball falls, you fail the level. Moreover, not all bricks can be broken by the ball alone and require a power up.

The game has 60 levels, which are unlocked in sequence. You can go back and replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress. To clear your previous game data, select the gear button near the bottom right corner of the welcome screen, then select Yes. This cannot be undone.

Bricks

Bricks come in many kinds and vary in strength. Most go down in one hit while others require multiple hits to take out. Metallic and reinforced ones are indestructible and must be destroyed either by a power up or the effect of the surrounding bricks.

Some bricks have special effects. Red bricks, when damaged, create an area of effect that destroys a number of bricks in their perimeter. Question mark bricks, meanwhile, drop a power up bubble that you can collect with your paddle.

Power Ups

Power ups drop from either the top of the screen or after a question mark brick is taken out. Collect the power up with a paddle to equip it. It will provide a brief bonus that will help you throughout the game. Often, a power up being active is the only way you can clear out particularly tough blocks.

The power ups available in this game are as follows.

• The fireball enables the ball to burn through multiple bricks in one pass.
• The laser lets the paddle fire a powerful beam at the bricks.
• The blaster allows the paddle to shoot at the bricks.

Power ups are the only way for you to directly destroy metal or reninforced bricks.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Like in most brick-breaker games, the ball is doing the majority of the work. Try to shoot it above the stack of bricks and bounce around the top of the screen a few times. This will clear away most of the weaker bricks with less effort on your part. Just be sure to catch it afterward.

Be careful when grabbing a power up. Try not to risk losing the ball on your way to grab one.
