Animals Run Game Background

Animal Run is an obstacle-avoidance 2D platform running game. Instead of jumping, however, you switch between running on either the floor or the ceiling. Reach the end of the course while avoiding spikes and pits. Collect apples as you can along the way. Play this game by yourself or challenge a friend.

How to Play Animals Run

To select, left click with your mouse or tap on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select an animal on the left side of the screen, then select a level on the center. To activate versus mode and the second player, select the other side of the screen.

On a desktop, press the following keys to switch surfaces:

• If you’re playing as Player 1, press the W key.
• If you’re playing as Player 2, press the up arrow key.

On a touchscreen device, switch planes by tapping on the screen with your fingers. Tap on the top right corner if you’re Player 2 or the bottom right corner if you’re Player 1.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Your player character travels down any of the horizontal planes onscreen automatically after a 3-second countdown. At the start of the game, your character begins at the bottom platform. Switch surfaces to avoid hitting spikes or falling down (or “up”, as the case may be). Pass through nitro strips to boost your character’s speed. Repeat the process until you reach the finish line at the end of the level. Likewise, you will fail the level if your character falls, hits a spike, or is left behind by the screen.

Along the way, pick up as many apples as you can. The apples you pick up are worth $10 in in-game cash, which you can use to unlock other animals to play as. You can only redeem the apples if you finish the level. There are 6 other unlockable characters available.

You can play the game against a human opponent by activating Player 2 on the welcome screen. Player 1 begins on the bottom left while Player 2 begins on the top left. Try to reach the end of the level before the other player.

The game has 12 levels, which are unlocked sequentially. Your web browser automatically saves your level progress. You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Some paths in the game are relatively easy but are likewise less rewarding. In general, the more times you have to switch on a platform, the more fruits you can collect.

There is a short delay between your presses and taps and the animal’s response. Be prepared to jump well in advance of any approaching spikes to clear them.
