Animal Connection Game Review
Animal Connection Game Background
Animal Connection is a cute animal-themed Mahjong Solitaire game with two modes. The basic rules remain the same. To clear the board, pair identical tiles that can be connected by a line with no more than two 90-degree turns. Play through 3 difficulty levels or through 30 puzzle levels.
This game was developed by RavalMatic.
How to Play Animal Connection
Select by left clicking with your mouse or tapping on the touchscreen with your fingers. On the welcome screen, select a difficulty level to begin a quick match or Puzzles to open the puzzles screen.
To remove tiles, select one, then select another identical one.
Basic Gameplay Advice
Select pairs of identical tiles to remove them from the board. The tiles must not be obstructed from one another. They must also be connectable through a line that has no more than two 90-degree turns. Adjacent identical tiles can be connected. Clear all the tiles on the board to win.
Assistance
If you find yourself stuck, you can use the assistance buttons on the top right corner to help you. The game has two assistance option: manual shuffles and hints. The number of these you start with vary with the game mode. Some, such as easy quick matches, have only one of each, while harder modes can have three of each. You begin with only one of each throughout every level in puzzle mode, though you can buy more later.
Manual shuffles will rearrange every tile onscreen, allowing you to discover new potential pairs. Hints will show you any random pair onscreen.
In puzzle mode, you can use the points you earn throughout gameplay to add or replenish your
On top of that, the game will also automatically shuffle every tile on the board if you run out of valid moves. This will not use up your count of shuffles.
Game Modes
The game has two modes. Quick matches are basic, untimed arrangements good for practice play. There is no score and a limited number of assistance options. Gravity is not present except in the hardest version. The harder the quick match’s difficulty level, the greater the number of tiles you must clear.
Puzzle mode, meanwhile, consists of several timed and untimed levels. There are 30 levels (puzzles) in this game, which are unlocked sequentially. You can replay any of the puzzles you’ve already beaten. Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
Puzzle mode levels have gravity, which is indicated at the start and is shown by arrows on the background. The direction of gravity dictates where the tiles would collapse when the ones below them are removed. Pay attention to the direction of gravity when playing these levels.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
One of the best ways to find valid pairs to remove is to scan the outer edge or at the corners. Corner tiles can be matched with two outer edges, while tiles in an outer edge can be matched with any other tile on that edge.
In general, start inwards (especially with adjacent pairs) and work outward to create more space to form pairs. This is especially useful for boards with multiple rows and spaces between them.
Educational Aspects
This game helps develop a player’s searching and pattern matching skills. The gravity-based levels also challenges a player’s ability to strategize based on environmental factors.
