Aidan and Emma Dungeon Adventure is a tandem room escape platformer game.

This game was released by Andercodes on June 29, 2022, and was inspired by the Fireboy and Watergirl series.

How to Play Aidan and Emma Dungeon Adventure

Press the white and brown play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen. Select a level from the level select screen and press the START GAME button at the bottom to begin play.

This game can be controlled by either a single person in control of both characters, or friends can play a coop game by sharing the keyboard.

Use the arrow keys to move the red character Emma.

Use the WASD keys to move the blue character Aidan.

If you make a mistake press the R key to reload the current level.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Characters

When characters walk through liquids they move slower. Emma – the red character – can walk through lava, but must avoid water and green poisoned water. Aidan – the blue character – can walk through ordinary water, but must avoid green poisoned water and lava.

Tandem Play

If a character has to get across a wide body of fluid of the wrong type you can have the same type character jump into the water or lava, then have the second character stand atop them while the lower character then walks across to the other side.

You can have the characters stand atop each other and do a 3-layered jump to get the top character to jump high. Have the top character jump, then have the character under them jump up into them, and as soon as the characters touch in midair the top character can jump higher again.

Game Features

Activate buttons by standing on them to open gates. Stand in front of levers to put movable platforms in motion. Players can push boxes around to use them as temporary platforms or have them fill in poisoned water areas to walk across. Purple boxes activate a moving platform when they are placed atop the purple floor tile.

Levels & Gems

Each stage contains 3 gems which can be collected by either character. The level select screen shows your best play time and gems collected from each level. You do not need to collect all of the gems to beat a stage, and can go back later to collect a hard-to-get gem after beating the level.

Get each character in front of their associated doors at the same time to complete the stage and advance to the next level. This game features 10 stages which are unlocked sequentially.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Through having one player stand on the other and then do the triple jump you can have one of the characters make it easily to the exits so that only one character

You do not need to collect all of the gems to beat a stage. Levels 8 and 10 have particularly hard gems to collect, as on both you need to time your moves with moving platforms which are hard to reset. If you are struggling to collect a gem beat the stage without collecting it then come back.

• On stage 8 you can try to get the red gem early on in the level play and jump off the moving platform at the edge of its path to the platform above it and to the left. align all the boxes except for leaving the purple box slightly left of where it goes, then get both characters up to the platform before the top and jump one on the other to have one character reach the top platform. Next you move the purple box over the purple floor tile at the correct time and race across to beat the moving platform coming up from the floor and make it to the second door with the second character.
• On stage 10 you can move the purple box over the purple flooring to get the right platform to fall all the way down, then move the purple box slightly out of position to have the platform start rising. Get the water character onto the moving platform near the top. Then you have the water character Aidan toward the left edge of the platform on the right, and play with leaving the purple box on the purple floor area and move it off just before the moving platform touches the poisonous water.

Educational Aspects

This game helps players improve hand eye coordination. When played in 2-player coop mode it can also help players improve teamwork skills.
