How to Play Ahoy Pirates Adventure

To select, left click with your mouse. Select the play button at the bottom center on the welcome screen to load the level selection screen. From there, select an unlocked level’s number to begin.

On a desktop, move around by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard. On a touchscreen device, swipe the screen in the desired direction to move.

Basic Gameplay Advice

Move around the mazelike paths on the island and collect as many gold coins as you can. Avoid the patrolling navy officers and other hazards like retracting spikes. Collect all the coins to finish the level.

Enemy navy officers roam the maze at random. They will start chasing you the moment you come into view. Try to evade them as much as possible, as if they touch you, you will lose a life. You can turn the tables on them by collecting sabers, which will enable you to attack them for a brief period. There are only a limited number of sabers in the island. Besides the saber, you can also use explosives to take out your enemies. To activate explosives, walk up to them, then move away. They will blast any nearby enemies. Be careful; you will lose a life if it explodes while you’re still close by.

You begin each playthrough with 3 lives. Each time an enemy or hazard hits you, you lose a life. Lose all your lives and it’s game over.

Each coin you collect is worth 100 points. Enemies you slay start off at 200 points. Each consecutive enemy you kill increases in value by twice the previous amount (200, 400, 800, and so on). Your current score appears on the bottom center of the screen. Your web browser automatically saves your best score. You stop accumulating points the moment you lose all your lives.

Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy

Keep moving. You move only when commanded and will stop once you’ve let go of the controls. The only time you should stop moving is when you must wait for a hazard to fall down.

Try to have two escape paths accessible whenever enemies are near. This will maximize your chances of evading them, particularly if they are coming from different directions.

Don’t get to greedy with the saber. The moment you become vulnerable to the enemies is quite subtle and you may not notice this until it happens. You might find the saber wearing off just as you approach the navy officers, which can put you in grave peril quickly.
