3 Minutes to Escape Game Review
3 Minutes to Escape Game Background
This is a room escape platformer game where players have a total of 3 minutes to escape a malfunctioning rocket in space.
On each room you must run into the red keypad to enter the code to unlock the exit door, then pass through the door.
This game gives you a total of 20 lives and 3 minutes to complete all 15 stages. You face security system gunshots, heat seeking rocket fire, electrically charged floor tiles, and electrical pulses. If you get hit by anything it is an instant death, and you start the current level again at the beginning.
This is the second game in the series. You can also play 2 Minutes to Escape and 4 Minutes to Escape on our site.
Andercodes (aka Andyro Games) published this game on March 12, 2022.
How to Play 3 Minutes to Escape
Move the player left by pressing the A key, the left arrow key, or the on-screen left arrow button.
Move the player right by pressing the D key, the right arrow key, or the on-screen right arrow button.
Jump by pressing the W key, the up arrow key, the space bar, or the on-screen jump button.
Basic Gameplay Advice
The goal of the game is to safely make it out of the rocket.
You have a total of 3 minutes and 20 lives to complete all 15 stages.
Beat each stage by avoiding all hazards, turning the red entry pad green to open the door, and then exiting through the open door.
Players can boost their game scores by collecting the coins scattered throughout the levels, though doing so is not needed to complete the game.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
While you are playing against the clock, some stages require patience in order to make it through them. Certain jumps must be tied to opportunities between security system fire so you do not get hit in the middle of a jump with no way to evade enemy fire.
Thin red platforms disappear shortly after you step on them, so move quickly across them. They reappear after a few seconds, so sometimes you may need to jump toward the platform when it does not show, hoping it will appear by the time you try to land on it.
On stage 14 the walls show electrical scarring that indicates where the pulses appear, making it easier to get close to the shocks without hitting them so that you do not have to walk too far to cross the hazardous areas where charges appear.
Educational Aspects
This is a good game for helping players develop hand and eye coordination. It can also help players develop problem solving skills.
Player Age Recommendations
The clock constantly works against you and a single hit by any obstacle leads to death. Either of which can be frustrating for younger players. We recommend this game for kids in middle school and above.
