1 Square Game Review
1 Square Game Background
This is a 35-stage platforming game which fuses math and logic puzzle elements.
The goal of the game is to step on all the numbered blocks the correct number of times so that they all disappear. Each time you step on a numbered block its value goes down by one, and the block disappears when the value is zero.

How to Play 1 Square
Touch the welcome screen or hit the enter key to start. Players next choose to play in normal mode, or no flooding mode. In normal mode rains from the bottom of the screen rise, and you must get rid of all the number blocks before the rising rains sweep away your block.
- Move the red square left by pressing either the A key or the left arrow key.
- Move the red square right by pressing either the D key or the right arrow key.
There is no jump button, but you can automatically jump up a single row in the direction you move if that is available.
As you advance through the game a couple additional elements are added which make the game more challenging.
- Some number tiles have a colored border around them. You can not damage the number tiles until you have grabbed a freestanding color frame of the same color to remove the border around the tile.
- Some stages have things like -1 or +2 floating around. When you walk through these elements they impact the values of all remaining squares.
Basic Gameplay Advice
If you play in no flooding mode you have an unlimited amount of time to look at and evaluate the stage before making your first move.
Remember when you play to always leave a way back to unnumbered platforms which connect you back to any other number cells.
If you lose a level or make a mistake that makes it impossible to beat you can tap the level restart button in the upper right corner to load the level again.
When all the number tiles have been removed a level is beat and you move onto the next stage.
Advanced Playing Tips & Strategy
If you keep getting stuck consider going another route.
If you are playing with rain turned on you may need to focus on some of the lower tiles first so that you clear them out before the rains rise.
Educational Aspects
This game challenges players to solve problems quickly and think through how to solve problems which at first may seem challenging, but become easier with practice.
Player Age Recommendations
This game is enjoyable for logic puzzle lovers of all ages. Primary school students should likely play the game with rain turned off to avoid getting frustrated by needing to make moves quickly.
